In Cuba, music is in the air

and yes, there's music in the street

But we found that the finest showcase of expert salsa dancing was at Casa de la Musica

This is an outdoor venue, set into the hillside in an almost amphitheater fashion

The best of the dancers we saw was this couple--he in the sweat-soaked shirt (indicative of his indefatigability) and she in the white dress

One hallmark of really good salsa dancers is the ability to execute numerous complex moves in rapid succession

One of the most bodacious, bold moves we saw was when this man grasped his partner on the hips and flipped her completely over

I caught this shot just as she landed--surprised and delighted!

Oh, how I wish I'd been able to capture the flip in a video
