In India I saw so many instances of motorbikes being used
to haul all sorts of cargo, that I couldn't understand why there was
virtually no use of trailers or sidecars.
Currently my only working theory is that the crush of
traffic, the sheer volume of vehicles out on the streets and the
ruthlessness with which advantages are negotiated, that the need to be
nimble and flexible preempts the occasional convenience of those extra
features
